Chair, Constructing Excellence Kent Club
Despite being told at school she couldn’t go into construction because she was a girl! Cheryl has been in the industry for over 30 years.
With a commercial start as a Contractor’s QS, she has worked cross industry for clients, contractors and sub-contractors. Moving on to project manage, lead and develop others, Cheryl has a passion for her chosen industry and loves nothing more than to communicate this with her peers and regularly speaks within schools to encourage our youth to take up this exciting path.
With a passion for communication and networking Cheryl chairs the Kent Club of Constructing Excellence, co-chairs Kent Invicta Chamber’s Kent Construction Focus Group and Building Kent Connections.
Big Networking Breakfast - Collaboration in Construction: Working Better and Smarter together
Clive Emson Building: 8:35am - 8:55am
The emphasis in today’s society is to work quicker, work cheaper, produce more, etc.. We hear work smarter, make better time choices, but what we should be doing is working together and generating the best and right outcome for our client.
In the construction industry; collaboration and communication are not just buzzwords; they are the future.
Improvements must be driven by ALL sectors sharing, learning, working together and driving innovation to deliver a demonstrably better built environment along with integrated teams working collaboratively with long-term relationships and aligned commercial arrangements.
As Chair of Kent’s Constructing Excellence Cheryl works collaboratively cross-industry with all stakeholders and will speak passionately about how collaboration and communication are imperative to successful projects.
