About the Speaker:
I started my career as a quantity surveyor and moving through different roles with contractors, subcontractors and on the client side, in the industry that I love.
Working with and helping others has always been my purpose, and nurturing and guiding young businesses is a passion.
I'm effectively going back to my roots, to embrace the day-to-day of construction, but going further now to increase my thirst for knowledge in the contractual and legal side of construction to help others get the best results commercially for their projects by assisting and supporting negotiations, resolving disputes.
Session Title:
Networking Breakfast - Local not London Is that too much to ask?
During our breakfast event, we’ll be welcoming Andrew Metcalf to the stage. A PR, marketing and public affairs expert, who’s local ‘economic update’ has become renowned across the Kent construction community.
Having represented Kent on the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, a part of the Kent & Medway Economic Partnership, Vice Chair of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, Andrew’s a firm advocate for Kent so he’ll be pushing home his mantra of ‘local, not London’. He’ll also be joined by Phil Webb of Kent-based main contractor, Walker Construction, who will equally be keen to hear about how the construction supply chain can better engage with local government.
Andrew will also be facilitating conversation between some of Kent’s key decision makers when it comes to development across the county, on the topic of utilising a local supply chain.
