About the Speaker:

Danny Coomber brings an impressive 40 years of experience in the construction industry, with notable contributions both in the UK and abroad. Having worked on a vast array of building and civil engineering projects, Danny's insights offer a unique depth, derived from both traditional and non-traditional pre-construction and construction project management. A large part of his career has been dedicated to health, safety, and well-being, working alongside Approved Inspectors and with a keen focus on the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations. Recently, Danny's emphasis on the requirements to implement the Building Safety Act 2022 have shown his keen commitment to staying ahead in the evolving world of construction compliance. His prior military career saw him offering expert advice to HM Forces and other government organisations, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the industry's needs. At Harwood, Danny currently heads Health & Safety, aiming not only to improve our capabilities but ensure a seamless transition under the new requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022. Danny's natural ability to communicate effectively, combined with his hands-on service delivery experience, makes him an invaluable asset to our sector.

More building safety competencies are being introduced as legislation, so that on every project a Principal Designer will be required to take on the responsibility of CDM, as well as another for Building Regulations compliance.
