10:25 – 11:00: Building Safety Act: Ensuring Competence in Modern Construction
Session Room: Brunel Theatre
The significance of a new paradigm, in the way that built assets are designed, constructed and maintained, has been mandated into law. Since the 6th April 2024, the legal requirement to deliver a Golden Thread for higher risk residential buildings has become a timely challenge for the sector in the wake of the tragedy of Grenfell Tower.
There are lots of questions that extend to a conversation that can and will allow room for everyone to participate in, but at the Digital Twin Skills Academy ‘DTSA’ our immediate focus is two-fold. (1) when we talk about ‘modern’ (i.e. digital) construction, in a post-Building Safety Act environ, what does ‘competence’ look like and how do we go about measuring it? And, (2) how do we ensure that competence is captured at every stage of the process, from design through construction and into operations?
- Understand the latest Building Safety Act requirements and their implications
- Learn practical steps to ensure compliance and enhance team competency
- Gain expert insights on fostering a culture of safety and accountability in your organisation
