Mental Health in the Construction Industry: Breaking the Silence

14:00 - 14:30

Session Room: Telford Theatre

A light-hearted practical session allowing the audience to understand what mental health is, learn particular skills to build confidence and to raise awareness. The session will involve three mental health first aiders talking the talk. We will have post it notes on our stand 121 before the session and will invite delegates to comment on what mental health means to them and the first aiders will talk through some of these during the session. We will show a small amount of slides and there will also be a practical demonstration on how to talk the talk and the session will close with details of where further information can be found and signposting to relevant organisations that can help someone in need.

Benefits of attending the session:

– Providing clarity on what mental health is.

-Skills and confidence in having a conversation around mental health.

-Awareness of what groups are available and what actions can be taken
