Leo Scarborough
Leo Scarborough is a Chartered Building Surveyor, Construction Project Manager and founder of Buildsmith Solutions.
Leo and his team are usually called when a construction project has become complicated, expensive or has started heading in the wrong direction—although he would much rather be appointed early enough to stop that happening.
Having been part of the project team involved in the first case to reach court under the Building Safety Act, Leo now helps clients, designers and contractors understand what the legislation means in the real world—not just what it says in the guidance.
A recognised speaker on the Building Safety Act, Principal Designer responsibilities and Gateway applications, Leo is passionate about making complex construction issues practical, understandable and, wherever possible, slightly less painful.
His philosophy is simple: a good Project Manager saves more than they cost—and the most expensive one is usually the one you did not appoint.
