Steve Samson

Steve Samson is Head of the Economy group at Kent County Council. He oversees the team which delivers a range of programmes that support key economic strategies for the county including the Kent & Medway Economic Framework, the Get Kent & Medway Working Plan and the emerging Kent & Medway Local Growth Plan. On a day to day basis the team operates the Kent & Medway Business Fund, contracts the Kent & Medway Growth Hub service, manages two major skills and employment programmes; Connect to Work and Skills Bootcamps which has a strong focus on the construction sector, and hosts the Visit Kent and Invest Kent services. Following some time in the private sector (travel trade) Steve has had various roles at the Council over 24 years covering EU funding, international relations, Trade (Export) Development and business support.
