Fire, Structural Safety & Duty-holder Compliance

Gok Faromika is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and Associate Principal Designer at Bailey Partnership, with professional experience spanning architectural technology, CDM 2015, design risk management and building safety.

He is also an Associate Member of the Association for Project Safety and a PhD researcher at Middlesex University London, where his research focuses on using the synergy of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate the decarbonisation of the UK’s existing housing stock.

Gok is particularly interested in the relationship between competence, professional accountability, building safety, digital information and effective risk management. He is passionate about helping the construction industry move beyond compliance as a tick-box exercise towards a culture of informed, competent and accountable decision-making.

At Kent Construction EXPO, Gok will explore what Fire, Structural Safety & Duty-holder Competence means for professionals across the construction industry and, importantly, what it means in practice.
