Women Shaping Construction
I have worked in Construction, housebuilding more specifically, for 19 years and my passion for it keeps growing. I started my career as a graduate on a 2-year rotational scheme and very quickly decided that I loved being out on site in amongst it all; making change, seeing progression, having an impact and later on, mentoring others.
I have been actively involved Women in Construction for approximately 5 years as I have always felt it important to attract and retain women in the industry.  I believe in equality for all and that everyone should have the resources, confidence, knowledge and skills to thrive in Construction.  If you are the right person for the job then it shouldn’t matter what your age, gender, race or background is.
This will also be my 3rd year on the judging panel for the Women in Construction Awards and it is so rewarding to read the nominations and be part of recognising the wonderful women in our industry.
I have recently taken on the mantel of chairing the committee for the Women in Construction Southeast Hub which is due to launch in October – an exciting time for the Women of South East to connect, support, network and grow.
